Doing the 'Right Thing'

We all desire to do the right thing always, but, at times we don't feel like doing those things. Let me give a few examples of some of the things I desire to do but don't feel like doing at times.
1. To be the best employee.
2. To help out those who are in need.
3. To pray at all times for everyone.

I am given numerous opportunities to do all these daily. Yet I don't feel like doing them at times.

Lately I have been examining myself. Therefore I have come to a wonderful realization and a conclusion. It is as follows:-

1. We should never rely on our feelings because feelings are temporary and fleeting. Doing the right things when we feel like doing them and not doing them when we don't feel like it are not right. I see it this way, if I feel 'Shiok' doing something like helping someone in need or even going to work, I take that feeling, that sense of pleasure as a gift from God. I thank Him for that feeling of pleasure. If I don't get pleasure out of it, I just offer what I do, to God Almighty as my humble gift to Him.
2. We must be one with God at all times and only then will we know what He wants us to do every step of the way. Our ways and our thoughts are not the same as God's. God sees a bigger picture and He knows what lies ahead. Therefore we must submit to Him and do our duties with utter diligence and He will reward us. but first we must spend time alone with our Creator daily. He is our energizer and our sustainer. We will be nothing without Him! Therefore we must always be humble and thankful to God.
3. We must have unconditional love for everyone. We love our own children and family members unconditionally right? When we show the same love towards others and towards our jobs, then and only then will we be able to serve and be the best that we can be.

This unconditional and unselfish love was demonstrated to us by only one person in the whole of the history of humanity. Yes, by Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, who became a man, who lived as a man, suffered every temptation and suffering every man, woman and child on this earth could ever suffer and died a humiliating death on the cross for our sake, taking all our sins upon Himself. He is the only One who showed us what unconditional love is. Now, He has risen victoriously and is seated at the right hand of God Almighty interceding for each one of us who would believe in Him, who would believe that He lived, died and rose again to save us and who would confess that He is our Lord and Saviour. Yes all we have to do is, trust in Him, believe in Him, surrender ourselves to Him and ask Him humbly for strength to do His will in our lives. He will then be able to lead us safely on the green pastures.

Yes! Then we will be able to do all the 'Right Things' in our lives with ease.
