Conviction of the Holy Spirit .

Conviction of the Holy Spirit .

When the Holy Spirit convicts us it can be very disturbing and  it will surely disrupt our plans and what we want to do and what we are afraid to change or approach.

Yet, when we obey,  there will be a sweet fellowship with God and we and our family will be blessed greatly.

Conviction of the Holy Spirit comes through our parents, siblings, spouses, friends, strangers, Word of God or a soft prompting in our hearts or through circumstances in our lives.

Therefore when we are convicted let us obey Him. If we are afraid that it will unravel many things and ruffle people around us, let's get His help to obey. He will help us if we sincerely want to obey God and walk in His ways.

Let's  read His Word daily  and let's walk in His narrow way for the final  salvation  of our souls and for the salvation of our loved ones.

Have a blessed day.

Does who we are and who we become, need to depend on people, circumstances and situations?

Does who we are and who we become, need to depend on people, circumstances and situations?

We can safely say that,  situations,  circumstances  and what people say and do to us, shape us in one way or another to a certain degree.

Eggs, potatoes and coffee beans which are put in the same container of water and boiled to 100°C will each turn out different.  The eggs will harden, the potatoes will become soft and the coffee beans will exude a sweet and aromatic coffee fragrance.

It is how we respond to each situation that changes us. I am talking about mature adults here, not children. Yet, can anyone stay resilient under adverse situations?

Children who do not know right from wrong and who are not mature yet will either break or their hearts will become hardened when placed under horrible and terrible situations. What about adults?

Every human being born in this world has God's moral compass embedded in our hearts. When we reach the age of reasoning we will be able to make right or wrong choices. Because God has written His moral laws on every human being's heart, no one in this world is exempt from making the right choices. We will be held accountable for each choice we make, by our Creator God, on the day of judgement.

Yet, can we make right choices all the time alone? Even if we make the right choices to stay resilient in the exterior, what does that do to our hearts and minds? Can we bring ourselves to love and pray for those who hurt us badly? Or do we say, "Yes, I did not let that situation impact me in a negative way.  I am just walking away from that person who hurt me. I want to stay positive."

The world teaches us that, in the guise of staying positive. "Listen to your heart!" "Walk away from negative people!" "They do not deserve you if they don't treat you well!"—says the world.

What does  Jesus teach us and want us to do? As Christians we must operate by God's standards, not the world's. We Christians will be judged by the standards of Jesus when we die.

Ok let's just say we walk away as the world teaches. Then what happens to the turmoil in our hearts? How do we deal with it when it plays in our mind, when things trigger it or when we by chance meet those who hurt us? How do we react then? Do we stay hostile, ignore them and walk away? Can we bring ourselves to say, "Hello, how have you been," with a smile? Or even if we say that so as to appear unaffected by what they did to us in the past, before people who are observing us, would that be genuine? What happens inside our heart and mind at that moment?

Come on. Let us be realistic. It is hard,to forgive someone who mars our reputation before the whole world, when we are innocent, let alone smile and greet them as if nothing happened. It is hard to smile and be normal around someone who constantly misunderstands our actions and motives.

So let me ask once again, "How do we change as a person, both insside and outside when people,  circumstances and situations hurt us badly? Do we allow exterior circumstances and people to change our character and who we are?"

We are mere human beings who struggle to do right many times. We think we can do it by ourselves but in truth we cannot. We need God's grace. We need His empowerment to do what is right.

As Christians we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. He wants to help us. If we cooperate with Him, we will allow Him to shape us into the image of Christ instead of letting the situation, circumstance and what people say or do to us, change us. Many times He will do it by changing us from the inside out and our attitude toward others.

Only He has the power to bring out the sweet fragrance of Christ from our inner-selves when we are crushed, boiled, roasted and toasted by what happens to us.

Only He has the power to remove the hurt and bitterness that has filled our hearts and minds and wipe it out without a trace.

Only He has the power to help us forgive,  love and pray for those who hurt us cruely.

When we are in Christ Jesus, our identity need not change because of others or circumstances.  We can be resilient and exude the fragrance of Christ both from the inside and outside when we abide in Christ Jesus.

Therefore today, let us humbly bow down before God, repent for the times we allowed circumstances,  situations and what others said and did, to shape us.  Then let's humbly ask the Holy Spirit to transform us with His mighty power.

Prayer.
Father God, we are so sorry that in our lives, we have reacted in worldly ways to many situations and circumstances. We have reacted in ungodly ways when people hurt us with their words and actions. We keep giving excuses for our reactions. Help us live by Your standards and not the world's.  Help us to love others as ourselves and put You first above all. We make our prayer in Jesus precious name.
Amen 🙏🔥🔥🔥

God bless you dear Brethren. 🙌
Have an amazing Sunday!💖

How to Forgive & Love with a Genuine Christlike Love?

How to Forgive & Love with a Genuine Christlike Love?

Oh, the innocence of little children,  how they forgive, forget and love with a pure godlike innocent love.

Jesus says in...

Matthew 18:3-4 ESV
and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. [4] Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Forgive, yes we say, "I can Forgive!" But to love them back? To pray for those who hurt us physically, emotionally or mentally we struggle and say, "That I can't! I am struggling to love them, let alone, pray for them and let them into my home or life again! I simply can't! And...if they don't tell me sorry, I won't forgive!"

But what does Jesus ask of us Christians? We who are His image and likeness in this world?

Here is what Jesus says, in...

Matthew 5:43-48 ESV
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' [44] But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [45] so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. [46] For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? [47] And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? [48] You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Luke 6:27-37 ESV
"But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. [29] To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. [30] Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. [31] And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. [32] "If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. [33] And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. [34] And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. [35] But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. [36] Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. [37] "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

Yes, if we are genuine Christians,  followers and imitators of Christ Jesus,  we have to humble ourselves and forgive like Him, love like Him and pray for those who persecute and hurt us like Him. When we can't  we must ask Jesus to pour out His love through us, because we can never love again with our human love which is so defiled.  The love of Christ poured out through us will enable us first to forgive them, then pray for them and love them back. This divine love of Christ poured out through us to them will even change them to repent and to be transformed into Christlikeness. Yes, try it if you do not believe me.

The life of  Corrie Ten Boom is a testimony to this. Do read her biography.

Jesus our Saviour is still standing at the right hand of the Father, pleading Him for each one of us, who are called by His name, to repent from our vile sins, seek forgiveness and be united with Him again. Can't we do the same my dear brothers and sisters.  Yes it is hard,  very hard for us, humanely speaking. But it is not hard for Him. So let us invite Him to forgive through us, love through us and to change that person through us. He will do it, only if we let Him.

We see in ...
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

God did not wait for us to repent and ask for forgiveness first.  He sacrificed His only Begotten Son for all humanity, even before we ever accepted Jesus or repented. He taught us the Our Father Prayer knowing full well that even before anyone understood that prayer,  He was going to give up His life for humanity, proving His unconditional love for us. Therefore now we forgive, love and repent of our sins because He loved us first and gave His life for us.

Look at how an innocent child loves. He loves with the innocent Christlike love, forgetting the past and hoping for the best yet to come. Even if we have punished that child  one moment ago, the next moment he turns to us bringing us something, which in his little mind, will make us happy, and runs to us with it in his hands.  Oh how pure and innocent is that child's love.

We must love like that innocent child and like Christ Jesus.  Not only love but pray for those who have hurt us, made a fool of us, disgraced us and shamed us in public, because we have done all this to Christ Jesus unknowingly throughout our lives. If we need and deserve the forgiveness and grace of God, then those who hurt us and hate us also deserve it from us.

After you intentionally forgive them in your heart, love them with all of your heart (in your heart and mind whenever the thought of them crosses your mind) with Christ's love and pray for them to be transformed, you must just WAIT! Yes, wait upon the Lord to act in His opportune time to unite you with them. He will do it at the right time. Meanwhile pray alot.  You may want to let them know that you have forgiven them and are praying for them. Pray before you do this as each individual situation varies. I am not asking you to go and invite more trouble when the Lord has not acted yet. Pray, pray,  pray much for their transformation because  we want everyone to be in heaven with us.

What is the litmus test, that we have truly forgiven them and love them in return? It is this:- whenever the thought of them crosses our hearts and minds, there will be no more hurt or bitterness towards them there.  We will automatically be able to pray for them when we think of them

Jesus says in ...

Matthew 7:12 ESV
"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Luke 6:31-33 ESV
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. [32] "If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. [33] And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

Remember,  we cannot love with our selfish human nature.  Let us put on the nature of Christ and ask Him to pour His love into us. Then the impossible will become possible.

Only then can we all Christians live in unity for God's glory. Then the world will know Jesus by our love.

So love like Jesus with the innocence of that child you see in the above picture.

God bless you.

The Bible? Who wrote it? What does it do?

Hey dear family & friends,
here is something dear to my heart that I wish to share with you.

Most religions have their ancient holy books which guides them and teaches them the precepts of their religion.

For Christians it is the Bible. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, which  when read, meditated upon and obeyed, transforms us to Christ likeness.

Christians are expected to be the light of Christ to all in the world. In fact Jesus Himself tells us that we must be the light of the world in Matt 5:14-16.

But not all who call themselves Christians live that way. In fact I have heard people talking such..."Hey he is a Christian but see how sarcastic and rude he is!" "Hey she goes to church and says she is a Christian, yet she gossips about everyone!"

I have never heard anyone say, "He/she is a Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist, a Taoist, a Free Thinker, yet he/she behaves that way!"
Why? It is because everyone holds a Christian by the standards of the Bible and by the standards of Jesus.

Why is the Bible sacred to us Christians?

'Ultimately, above the human authors, the Bible was written by God. Second Timothy 3:16 tells us that the Bible was “breathed out” by God. God superintended the human authors of the Bible so that, while using their own writing styles and personalities, they still recorded exactly what God intended. The Bible was not dictated by God, but it was perfectly guided and entirely inspired by Him.

Humanly speaking, the Bible which contains 66 books was written by approximately 40 men of diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years. Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd, Luke was a physician. Despite being penned by different authors over 15 centuries, the Bible does not contradict itself and does not contain any errors. The authors all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation—Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).'
(The above taken from 'gotquestions.org')

The Bible is the only ancient book that tells the end from the beginning. The future of mankind, the entire planet earth and the universe is already foretold in the Bible.

We believe that this Word of God transforms the life of the reader (if he/she reads it and allows the words to change him/her). It depends on how we read the Bible.

Do we just keep it as a sacred book (which collects dust) and only refer to it when needed, once a year or a few years or do we consume it as our daily bread?

Do we just turn the pages and pick out only the 'make me feel good' verses which appeal to us or do we read it as God's Word which convicts and corrects our behaviour, our speech and our thinking?

We will only understand what God has in store for us when we read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation earnestly.

The Word of God can only transform us when we read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation and put into practice what we read, with the help of God's Holy Spirit.

I have seen some, just buying positive Bible verse cards from bookshops and pick out one card every morning to see what is in store for them that day. They use it as fortune telling cards.

Many just pick verses that pertain only to healing or only to prosperity or only to a happy life and read it, as though by just being healed and by being prosperous and happy, they become a pleasing child of God.

There are those who attend Bible classes and study the bible just to win arguments with others.

The author of Hebrews says this:-
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

When we are sincere about living a life that pleases God,  we will read the Bible daily and consume it as our spiritual food. We will not just read it but meditate on the words day and night and allow it to change us from the inside out.

Many think that the Old Testament in the Bible is irrelevant to these modern times. They only read the New Testament. Let me tell you that without the Old Testament, one will never understand Who Jesus is and why He came to this world in human form and why He did what He did. Furthermore we learn many important life lessons from the lives of the many Old Testament characters.

It is my ardent desire that every Christian will daily devour the entire Bible, the treasure map that God has given us, and live transformed lives which pleases God.

Reading God's Word is to transform us into the image of Jesus our Saviour; not to win arguments. We must read it daily, meditate on it and obey it humbly so that our speech, our mannerisms and our thoughts can be renewed.

May we Christians be the light of the world and lead all we meet from darkness into God's divine light.

God bless you 🙌

The Truth is Revealed - An Article Written by Calvin Smith.

In-Depth: Understanding The Importance Of Jesus’ Physical Resurrection

Calvin Smith

On Easter Sunday, many Christians around the world will commemorate the resurrection of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Why is this important? Because Christians understand that this is the event in history where atonement for sin was made possible because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.

Jesus (the “last Adam”) paid the penalty of sin and death for those who put their faith and trust in him. This penalty was brought into the world by the first Adam. As Romans 5:12 records, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

And we are reminded of this again in the book of 1 Corinthians, where Paul (inspired by the Holy Spirit) says,

1 Corinthians 15:20–22 KJV – “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

Jesus died and physically rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion.

Colossians 1:18 KJV – “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”

The Apostle Paul (who saw the risen Christ) stated why this truth (Christ’s physical resurrection) is so important when he said,

1 Corinthians 15:17-19 KJV – “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

After Jesus rose from the dead, he met with his disciples and commanded them to tell others about the Creator who came to save the world from the curse of sin.

Matthew 28:19–20 KJV – “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

He then returned to heaven to prepare a place for those who believe in him, as explained in John 14.

Resurrection Deniers

Of course, many have denied that Jesus actually rose again by saying perhaps he simply fainted on the cross and revived later on in the tomb where he was laid. Some say Jesus died, but that the disciples stole his body from the tomb and lied about his resurrection. Others say that perhaps some other faction, such as the Romans or Jewish leaders, stole the body. And of course, Christian apologists have presented many comprehensive, logical, and robust refutations of all these scenarios.

For example, if Jesus just fainted on the cross and later revived, how did he manage to unwrap himself from the grave clothes, push aside the stone blocking the tomb, and manage to get past the soldiers posted outside? How could a man that had been beaten beyond recognition (as Matthew 27:26–30 records and Isaiah 52:14 prophetically states), crucified, and pierced with a spear, do this?

Similarly, how could the disciples have stolen Jesus’ body out from under the nose of a trained regiment of hardened, well-armed professional soldiers who’d been assigned to guard the tomb under penalty of death? And why would the disciples have continued to lie about an event they knew to be untrue even when it meant their own deaths?

What possible benefit could either the Roman or the Jewish leaders have gained by stealing Jesus’ body, furthering the belief in his resurrection and triggering the greatest movement in rebellion against their power? This scenario is especially unbelievable, since producing his body would have definitively disproven all the Christians claiming him as the risen Savior once and for all!

By What Authority Do We Know for Certain?

But how can we be sure about our risen Lord? Why can Christians be so confident that what we are celebrating is true? Well, first and foremost, it’s because we take God at his Word. As the Psalmist says,

Psalm 119:160 KJV – “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.”

We know that the resurrection is true because “God is not man, that he should lie” (Numbers 23:19). God is all-knowing; he’s the most reliable eyewitness of all because he’s been there from the beginning, is omnipresent, and is the Creator of all things. And God’s Word says,

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 KJV – “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

Another Authority?

I am always astonished that I continue to meet Christians who do not hold to a consistent view of the Genesis account of origins—for example, doubting that the days in Genesis were real days and buying into evolutionary ideas over the plain reading of Scripture.

Just as we accept that Christ rose bodily from the dead after three literal days because of the clear words of Scripture, why not understand that God created the earth in six normal-length days? The truth is nestled not only in the clear words of Scripture in Genesis, but within a passage at the height of Old Testament historical readings as well:

Exodus 20:11 KJV – “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

Almost always, Christians who do not view Genesis 1–11 as a literal, historical account will tout “science” as the reason why, but “science” can’t prove that Jesus rose from the dead either. And it also cannot disprove that God created everything in six days.

The fact is, “science” can’t prove any event from history because it’s extremely limited when dealing with past events, which are not observed and non-repeatable. Historical events are known to be true because of reliable eyewitness accounts, just like the reliable eyewitness accounts that Jesus’ tomb was empty after three days. So what is the disconnect?

A Disconnected View of Scripture

To most secular people in the world today, the word Easter invokes thoughts of bunnies, chocolate eggs, and family fun, rather than thinking of the arrest, crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Christ.

And that is because (especially in the de-Christianized West) many people don’t believe in the historical nature of the entire Bible, thinking the accounts within it are untrustworthy. Why? Because of the same reason many Christians don’t take Genesis as history—because of “science.”

The state-run school systems in the Western world have taught that science has disproven the accounts in the Bible relating to the physical universe, such as geology, biology, astronomy, and anthropology.

Scientists have supposedly shown there was no global flood, creatures evolved over millions of years, the big bang formed the universe, and humans are simply evolved animals—the descendants of apelike ancestors—not created in the image of God.

However, it wasn’t observational science that conflicted with Scripture; it was the fictional historical narrative—the story of evolution—pushed by naturalistic thinkers that disagreed with the Bible. And so, facts that we observe (dinosaur bones, rock layers, supposed “missing links,” etc.) that have been interpreted as supporting that imagined history are now touted as scientific proof that corroborates their story.

People have become more consistent over time, thinking if someone can’t trust the Bible where it touches on “tangible” subjects dealing with geology, biology, astronomy, etc., then why trust its message of morality and salvation based on the real history in the Bible?

And it seems many Christians have bought into this way of thinking to some degree, allowing secular scientific interpretations to guide how they view Scripture. It’s like a sliding scale of “biblical believability” that many hold to—almost as if it’s a matter of just how much belief one must maintain to still be considered a Christian.

But again, science denies virgin births, water turning into wine, and lepers being supernaturally cured. Science also says ax-heads don’t float and donkeys don’t talk. So why do many Christians believe certain parts of the Bible but not others? Why do many believe Jesus walked on water and came back to life but not that God created the earth in six literal days or that there truly was a global flood?

Jesus emphasized belief in both the tangible and the spiritual when he said,

John 3:12 KJV – “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”

Much of what’s discussed in the history in Genesis (such as a single man and woman being the father and mother of all people, and a worldwide flood devastating the earth) had a huge impact on the “earthly things” we can examine and study (such as human DNA containing mutations and sedimentary rock layers with fossils [dead things] inside of them).

And the revelation in Scripture regarding “heavenly things,” such as the origin of sin and death (Romans 5:12) being linked to “earthly things” like fossils (dead things), is also clearly seen.

The fossil record could not have been laid down before Adam sinned (during the six days of creation) because Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death. . . .”

Death entered the world because of sin—so there would be no dead bodies or bones of animals or people before sin. Not only does Noah’s flood make for a far better explanation of the fossil record because of the physical evidence that corroborates it (the earthly things), but because it means death occurred after the fall—not before—which confirms the biblical understanding of why and when death happened and why Jesus came to pay for it (the heavenly things).

So, the message of salvation and morality can’t be separated from the history in Scripture concerning geology, biology, astronomy, etc., and neither can the message of the future be separated from the history.

Past, Present, and Future

God’s Word says he created a “very good” world with no death and suffering in the beginning and that sin and death were the results of the fall. It also says that at the consummation of all things, the restored heavens and earth will reflect that very good creation. As Revelation 21:4 says, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

The “big picture” of Scripture is clear. God created a very good world with no death and suffering. That world was marred by sin when the first man, Adam, rebelled against God and was punished for his transgression. Jesus came to pay the penalty for sin for those who put their faith and trust in him. And God will one day restore the world with a sinless new heaven and new earth where death (the last enemy) will be no more.

1 Corinthians 15:26 KJV – “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”

Understanding Easter

Unfortunately, much of the church has adopted a history of millions of years and/or an evolutionary understanding of Genesis that undermines the gospel message concerning the purpose of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.

Easter has been disconnected from the history in the Bible like so many other events (especially those surrounding the “earthly things”). In many people’s minds, the Easter message has been relegated to the position of an interesting “story” with no real meaning.

We need to remind people of why they are sinners: because they’re descendants of Adam. And without God, we would all be separated from him for eternity.

Romans 3:23 KJV – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

However, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

We must remember that the Son of God stepped into the real history communicated in the Bible, beginning in Genesis, to become one of us and pay the penalty for sin.

Romans 10:9 KJV – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

This is the message of Easter: Because of what Christ did on the cross, there is now a way back to our Creator against whom we rebelled. The message that man can be redeemed is a message with real meaning based on real history that connects to this real world.

Romans 5:15-21 KJV – “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Do you know your life's Purpose? - A Good Friday story.

Do you know your life's Purpose? - A Good Friday story.

There was once a little town and beside it was a mountain full of  trees. Woodcutters usually went to this foresty mountain to cut the trees and get the wood they needed to make wooden furniture and other wooden products.

Now, in the middle of the forest, stood  a papa tree and a baby tree. Baby tree observed the woodcutters coming in daily with their sharp axes and chopping the trees around it.

One day, baby tree asked papa tree, "Papa why are they chopping the trees?"

"To turn them into useful products, my son," replied papa tree.

"Will they chop you and me too, one day papa?" asked baby tree.

"Yes, my son. They will, but do not worry, we will live on as useful products even if we are cut up," said papa tree.

Baby tree thought intently for some time, then it asked papa tree, "Papa, will I become a furniture that is useful, too?"

"My son," said papa tree. "Do not worry what you will become. Just yield yourself into the carpenter's hands. The skilled hands of the carpenter will turn you into something beautiful and useful. You will become very special one day!"

Papa tree told baby tree many more things but baby tree was lost in its thoughts about becoming something special one day, so it did not hear what papa tree told it.

Years passed and the baby tree was now a sturdy and tall tree. It was lonely without its father tree. Let's call it the 'Lonely Tree' for now. Its papa was long gone. "My papa will be a useful piece of product somewhere now, " thought the lonely tree. "I too want to be useful and special as my papa told me I would!"

The lonely tree waited and waited day after day, watching all its friends and siblings being chopped and carried away. It's papa had described to it the beauty of the furniture, the chopped trees were turned into. So while waiting for its turn to be made into something useful, lonely tree began to imagine.

It imagined that it was a strong and beautifully carved door which guarded the house of a rich man. Then it imagined that it was a strong and beautiful rocking chair, rocking an elderly person gently to sleep. As it began to imagine, it could not wait for its turn to come.

One day a young man in his 30's walked into the forest and sat beside lonely tree. He leaned against it. At first lonely tree thought he was going to chop it. Its heart raced faster and faster. "Has my time come," wondered lonely tree.

This man was alone and did not have an axe with him. He just leaned on the tree and quietly sat there for a few hours in meditation. He seemed to be burdened. At times he seemed to be talking to someone but lonely tree could not see anyone else beside him. So it thought that the man was talking to himself. But lonely tree did not mind because this man seemed so gentle and kind.

Days and months flew by. Lonely tree was still standing there, uncut. "Maybe my time has not come yet," thought lonely tree, and consoled itself.

By now lonely tree had started to look forward to the young man's visit. He came when it was either very early in the morning before the sun came up or late at night when all were asleep. He always leaned gently against lonely tree and patted it lovingly before leaving. "At least I am being useful to him now," thought lonely tree. That thought gave it immense satisfaction.

Early one morning as lonely tree was looking forward to the young man's arrival, it was caught offguard by a rude sharp pain on its trunk. "Oh no! I am being chopped!" Cried Sturdy tree. "Now the young man will not be able to lean on me any longer!"

As it was chopped and carried away, lonely tree forgot all that its papa told it about being a useful furniture. Its thought was all consumed with being useful to that kind young man who used to lean on it daily. It grieved that it would not be there for that kind young man to lean on any longer.

The next day, lonely tree,  was reduced to only a rough t-shaped wood. It was thrust into the hands of a man. This  man looked so bloody and disfigured. He carried lonely tree up the hill. The moment he held it, lonely tree recognised his touch instantly.

"Is this not the same young man who used to lean on me daily? Why does he look so disfigured? Who beat him up? What did he do?" These were some of the questions racing in the mind of lonely tree.

As it was being carried up the hill by this disfigured young man, lonely tree remembered something else its papa once told it. "Son, you can be made either into an useful furniture or be made into an emblem of suffering and shame, to carry sinners."

"Oh, no! Am I going to become an emblem of shame," thought lonely tree. "But this man surely is not a sinner. I know him. He will never hurt a fly! He can't be a criminal," cried lonely tree to itself.

By now the disfigured man had carried it up the hill and he was made to lie down on the t-shaped lonely tree. His hands were stretched and were nailed to it. His feet placed together and were nailed to it. Every nail that pierced through his hands and feet was embedded deep into lonely tree. It felt his excruciating pain. His blood covered it.

Then it was lifted up with that young disfigured man who was now nailed on it. As it was planted with a heavy thud, in the soil of the mountain, it heard his pitiful groans and the screams, wailing and even the mocking of the people gathered around. From their cries, it learned that this man was called Jesus. It was so afraid he will fall off. It wanted to hold him tightly with its branches from falling off,  but it had none. The only things that held him firmly to it were the sharp iron nails.

Some soldiers came and removed a sign which was placed on top of it and nailed another sign on it saying 'Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews' (John 19:19)! Then lonely tree knew whom it was carrying.

As it was erected high up with Jesus hanging on it, as it heard him saying, "Father forgive them for they  know not what they do,"  as it  heard the earthquaking and thunder rumbling, lonely tree knew its purpose. It was now made into the most useful thing ever; the Cross on which hung the Saviour of the world! The One Who took upon Himself, all of humanity's sins and died a cruel death to save them from sin's destruction.

Lonely tree now looked so rugged and old with all the bruises on it and the blood covering it. Now that Old Rugged Cross, though it was sad for the cruel death of the kind young man, Jesus, it stood humbly on that hill far away. In its heart, it knew that it was sought after to lean on and was carried by the Saviour of this world. It knew that no other tree had that privilege as it had, to hold Him till His last breath. It gave a huge sigh of relief, as it understood that its purpose was fulfilled at last!

Dear children, know that each one of us was created by God to fulfill His purposes on earth. Therefore live out God's purposes in your lives, whatever it may be. You may be called to be of help to the old, the sick, the lonely the poor or the outcast.

Do ask Jesus what His purpose for you is, in your life. Just yield yourself into the hands of Father God Who our carpenter. His skilled hands will turn you into something beautiful and useful. You will become very special one day!

Live your life to the fullest. Let your life glorify Him at all times.  Jesus suffered and died on the cross for you and me. He died so that we may be freed from sin's clutches  and enjoy fullness of life with Him forever.  So make Him proud by living a life pleasing to Him.

In this story trees can talk, feel and think. Although in reality they can't.  Hope you enjoyed listening to it /reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it for you.

God bless you as you walk closely with Jesus daily.🙌

The story of two Pots - Pridenetta & Humilitalia

The story of two Pots - Pridenetta & Humilitalia.

Once upon a time in a land far far away lived many pots of various sizes and shapes . Today we are going to  look at the lives of two pots who lived in the Kingdom of King Potliander. They were Pridenetta and Humilitalia.

One day King Potliander who ruled over this land of many pots fell very ill. No doctors in that land could cure him. He was becoming more sick every day.

His Admin Minister had heard about some healing water in a deep well up on Mount Pottypine. So he summoned all the pots in that land. When they arrived, he gathered all the big, small,  beautiful, plain, tall, short,  chipped and broken pots and began addressing them.

"Oh citizens of Pot-Land! Our great King Potliander has fallen gravely ill. No medicine can cure him except the healing water in the deep well, high up on Mount Pottypine . The king has announced that a great reward will be given to the pot which would fetch the healing water from that well for him."

A great commotion rose among the pots that had gathered that summer morning.

*( By the way my dear young ladies and gentlemen,  let me clear your doubts. These pots in the land of Pots had hands and legs and could walk and talk like any of us. It was a land of fairies and anything can happen in it.)

The king's admin minister hushed the crowd and asked the strongest pot to come forward. A tall, big, plain looking tea-pot came forward.  After examining it he rejected it. He then called for another pot to come forward.

This time a beautiful Pot called Pridenetta which looked so exquisite and painted with lively and enchanting colours came forward with pride. The minister fell in love with its beauty and exclaimed, "Oh lovely!  You will be the right pot to fetch the healing water for our king. When he looks at your beauty and exquisite patterns and colours on you, half his illness will be gone. Then when he drinks the healing water from you, he will be completely healed. I now appoint you to go and fetch the healing water from Mount Pottypine." Then he dismissed all the other pots.

Pridenetta lifted its head up high in pride. It gave a haughty look at all the other pots which were dismissed. Then it began to strut arrogantly towards Mount Pottypine to get the healing water, all the while thinking about the rich reward it will be getting.

While it was on its way it met a cracked and broken pot called Humilitalia, with lots of holes and cracks on it, walking beside it.

"Where are you going" asked Humilitalia to Pridenetta.

"Don't you know that our venerable king Potliander is gravely ill. I, the most beautiful Pridenetta, have been chosen from all the pots of this land, to bring the healing water from the well which is on top of Mount Pottypine to him. Well I should not be talking to useless vessels like you. If not I will be late in getting my rich reward. Good bye,"  answered Pridenetta arrogantly and began to strut even faster.

"Oh wow!," exclaimed Humilitalia. "I too want to bring him some water. What if the water you bring is not enough? The more water he drinks the better he will be!"

"Eeewww!" Exclaimed Pridenetta in disgust.  "You of all the pots? First of all, you can't even hold a cup of water in you without it all spilling out through the cracks and holes in you. Besides, have you ever seen yourself in the mirror? The moment our king looks at you he will faint and die. You don't look presentable at all! You look disgusting!"

Saying that it strutted even faster and climbed the mountain walking towards the well. Poor Humilitalia followed behind humbly but persistently wanting to help the king.

Pridenetta reached the well and carefully inched down the steps in the well. When it reached the bottom it lowered itself into the waters and scooped up just enough  water in it for the king. Having done that it came up cautiously, without spilling the water. It saw Humilitalia standing beside the well. It gave Humilitalia a snobbish look and turned away arrogantly. Then it slowly and carefully made its way down the mountain and toward its kingdom.

Beside the well stood Humilitalia patiently. It smiled to itself when Pridenetta  snubbed it. It too wanted to go down the well to get some water for the king. It knew its inadequacies.  Therefore it called out to the Master Potter loudly.

*(The Master Potter is the one who moulded and made the pots in the Kingdom of Pots. Remember that this is a land of fairies! So when anyone calls out to the Master Potter, he will appear to them.)

"Who called me," boomed the Master Potter in a loud voice. He was big in size, had a very kind face, had curly white hair and had a long white beard like Santa Claus.

"It was me sir," replied Humilitalia in a timid voice.

"How can I help you my child," asked the Master Potter, looking lovingly at the cracked pot.

"Sir, my king,  King Potliander, is gravely ill. The admin minister said that he will only live if he drinks this healing water. Pridenetta has brought him some of this water but what if he needs more? I know that I can't get the water to him by myself. I need your help. Would you help me," asked Humilitalia humbly and pleadingly.

"Sure my child! Anyone who comes to me humbly and asks for my help, will not be put to shame.  I will help you bring the water to him."

Saying that, the Master Potter lifted Humilitalia in his hands, scooped some healing water into it. Then he cupped both his hands around the pot.  The water could not come out through the cracks and holes of the pot because the Master Potter's hands were clasped around it covering every single crack and hole perfectly. It was he who made it when it was only a piece of clay. Therefore he knew how to hold it and fill it with the healing water.

Now, Pridenetta which went ahead earlier reached the king's Palace. The admin manager met it at the Palace gate and brought it to the king. The king sat up eagerly and took the pot in his hands. He looked at its beauty, but he was too weak and sick to admire it.

Pridenetta told King Potliander with pride, "Your Majesty, I went all the way to fetch this healing water for you. I know that when you drink it from me, you will be healed! In fact an ugly broken pot wanted to bring you this water, but I came before it. It is not even fit to be presented before you,  your Majesty!"

The King weakly put the pout of the pot to his lips and drank the water. At first he drank a little then he gulped all, but he was still weak and sick as before. Nothing had changed.

Pridenetta asked him to look at it and admire its beauty and colours,  saying that would make him feel better. The king got irritated and told the admin minister to send it away. Pridenetta was so sad and angry because it did not get the reward. "My reward! My reward! I lost it," sobbed Pridenetta as it walked away angrily stamping its feet.

Just a while later, there was a knock on the door of the king's  chamber. "Who is that," asked the minister.

A feeble voice replied, "It's me, the cracked pot, and my Master Potter!"

"What do you want? King Potliander is sick and he cannot attend to you now," said the minister.

"Oh, we have come to give him the miracle water which will heal him," answered Humilitalia.

"Oh well, he had some of the water earlier and it had not done him any good, so go away, " said the minister.

"Sir, if I may interrupt,  this water will heal him," boomed a voice from outside the chamber.

The minister opened the door to see who it was. There stood the Master Potter with a kind face, holding the cracked pot, which was filled with the healing water, in his hands.

The minister looked at the Potter,  then looked at the cracked and broken pot and looked into it.  When he saw the pot full of the sparkling water he exclaimed in amazement,  "Oh goodness gracious! You Humilitalia, a cracked pot full of holes, are full of water! This is amazing! Alright, come on in! Let the king drink the water from you!"

Saying that he brought both the Potter and Humilitalia to the king's bedside. The king could not even sit up this time. The Master Potter poured the water from Humilitalia, little by little into the king's mouth. As soon as the water went down the king's throat, the king felt better. He sat up and felt his strength returning. Suddenly he was so energised that he jumped out of his bed with glee.  He hugged Humilitalia and thanked both the pot and the Potter.

King Potliander said "I drank the same healing water from the beautiful pot, Pridenetta earlier but nothing happened. Now again I drank it from you, Humilitalia, the cracked pot, and am completely healed. Therefore you Humilitalia, will be given a huge reward which I promised.

"Oh no your majesty," replied Humilitalia humbly. "I am just a broken vessel. It was my Master Potter who filled me up and held me firmly so that the water would not seep through the cracks and holes in ne. It was he who carried me to you and it was he who poured the water into your mouth. I did not do anything. I don't deserve any reward.  Please give the reward to him and Pridenetta which walked all the way to the well and walked back with the water for you. She deserves the reward for  her hard work."

The King was touched by Humilitalia's humility.  He said, "I know now why I was not healed when I drank from Pridenetta. It was full of pride. Therefore the water lost it's healing property. Further more her motive was not right. She wanted to bring me the water only for the reward. But you, on the other hand are so humble.  You acknowledged your Master Potter who is your maker. You ascribed all glory to him.  It was your humility that mingled with the water and made the healing properties in it more potent. Your motive was not to get the reward but you really wanted to see me healed. That's why I was healed. I love your attitude. I have realised that, only those with humble hearts can achieve anything. It is because the humble ones always call upon their maker and he comes to be with them and work out things through them. Come now my dear Humilitalia , come and receive your reward."

Humilitalia  could not believe its ears. It thanked the King and its maker, the Master  Potter and received its reward from the King.

Moral of the story:-

1) No matter how weak or small you are do not be sad or afraid. Remember that you can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you.

 Philippians 4:13 ESV
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

2) Always be humble and you will win God's favour.

Proverbs 29:23
A man’s pride will bring him low,
But a humble spirit will obtain honor.

Matthew 23:12
Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.

Psalm 37:11 says, “But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.”

The meek “humbly acknowledge their dependence on the goodness and grace of God”  They will depend on God and give Him all the glory.

What does it mean to 'Abide in the Word', Who is the 'All Consuming Fire' ?

What does it mean to 'Abide in the Word', Who is the 'All Consuming Fire'?

Isaiah 33:14-16 ESV
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless: "Who among us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?" [15] He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, [16] he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.

I was contemplating on this. These 3 verses speak volumes about our abiding in the Lord and about being transformed into His likeness.

God is a consuming fire. Who can stand in His presence forever?

The melting point of gold is 1,064 degrees Celsius, this refers to pure gold, or 24ct (99% pure) gold.

Once it is heated to that temperature,  impurities are separated from it and removed.

But to use the gold for higher purposes, like in medicine, electronics and space industries, it has to be boiled further to be changed into gaseous form. The boiling temperature is more than 2000°C.

'Occasionally, gold is used in gas form to make incredibly thin gold coatings. This is done in the electronics, medicine, and space industries. Given gold’s high melting point, it is perhaps unsurprising that gold also has an incredibly high boiling point. The boiling point of gold is an extreme 2,856 Celsius or 5,173 Fahrenheit! Getting gold to reach this temperature is usually done with High Electron beams as even industrial arc furnaces don’t typically reach temperatures high enough to boil gold.' - an exerpt from the link below.

To read in detail about how gold is melted you may refer to the link below.👇

https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/index/gold/melting-point-of-gold/

Only gold can withstand intense heat up to 2,856° Celsius or 5,173° Fahrenheit.

Therefore we who abide in Christ Jesus  are not just relaxing there and enjoying a holiday, doing what pleases us.

Some may think that when we come to Jesus we have no more problems,  no trials and suffering.  But they are greatly mistaken.

The real trials and tribulations start only when we come to Jesus and begin to abide in Him.

Just as gold is heated in intense fire to remove all impurities from it and further boiled to be used for higher purposes, we, the children of God are being purified in God's consuming fire daily. To further use us for His  higher purposes, God intensifies our trials and sees if we are ready for His higher use.

You may think that this God Who puts His children under such intense suffering and trials is a Monster.

Our Father God is not a cruel tyrant. He is a compassionate,  merciful and ever loving Father. He does not throw us who abide in Him, into the fire of His wrath.

Yes, God is the 'All Consuming Fire'. Yet, this same fire consumes us in two different ways.

1. God gently nudges, prods, and purifies us, His children,  in His fire of love to remove the impurities in us and to shape us into the image of His Son Jesus Christ.

2. God's wrath is poured upon those who knowingly disobey, rebel against and vehemently sin against Him and who cause others to sin and rebel against Him. Why? It is because they are causing eternal harm to themselves.

We must remember that a moment by moment help to withstand and triumph, is given to us by the Holy Spirit Who is dwelling within us, who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and SaviourGod does not leave us as orphans.

Therefore to abide in Jesus the vine (John 15:4,5), we branches must be ready to be pruned often. Only then, the fruit which the Holy Spirit produces in us will be succulent.

Someone who does not do the same things, does not speak the same way, does not enjoy the same entertainment that everyone enjoys or does not watch the movies which they watch, does not participate in the wrong others are doing like gossip or cheating for example, he will most often be ridiculed and ostracised by the people of this world. When we idolise the things of this world instead of putting God first,  when we eat too much or eat way too little,  when we eat or drink what we should not, when we tell lies or take what does not belong to us, when we are lazy, when we waste our time and money on the things of this world and on what brings God dishonour, there are sure consequences. Then we suffer the consequences which come in the form of sickness or a stern warning or discipline from God. These are just a sample of the trials, those who abide in Christ Jesus have to go through.

There are many more trials every human being will face daily.  Like healrh issues, communication issues, not being able to see eye to eye with others, misunderstandings between husbands and wives, parents and children,  parents in laws and sons/daughters in laws, between siblings, employers and employees, etc. Most of these, occur often in each family.

The one who has surrendered himself to Christ Jesus and who abides in Him faithfully, will be able to handle each trials with the help of the Spirit of God within him. Thus his perspectives will be aligned with God's perspectives.  His character will be perfected. The fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control will be evident in his life.

Again, who can stand in the presence of our God, Who is a consuming fire?

The answer is:-
Isaiah 33:15,16
[15]He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, [16] he will dwell on the heights;

In short, it is he who wants to be holy, who is humble, is repentant, fears the Lord and trembles at His name.

It is him whom God is seeking to dwell within, as He says in
Isaiah 66:1-2 ESV
Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? [2] All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.

God our Father seeks one who lives righteously, is humble and repentant and has the fear of God within him always.

That is the person who abides in the Lord and who allows God to purify him step by step, change his character and transform him into the image of Christ Jesus.

All who think that becoming a Christian will make them prestigious, powerful and wealthy will be sadly deceived.
All others who come to Christ Jesus thinking that they will have a jolly good time abiding in Him,  will leave when trials and tribulations hit them. This is a sad fact.

So my dear brethren, who call yourselves Christians, are you ready to abide in Jesus our Saviour faithfully, without complaining,  grumbling and finding fault with Him? Are you ready to die to your fleshly nature, die to your worldly desires and crush your ego under your feet and walk in the narrow way with Jesus?

If you are, then it is you whom He is calling, "Come Follow Me!"

Are you ready to be sanctified and transformed by Him, our loving Father, Who is also the 'All Consuming Fire'?

Yes? Yes! Great!
Then, come on and abide in Him our Saviour and our God and draw unending graces from Him as you are pruned, shaped and sanctified by His Spirit.

In humility, with repentant hearts and a holy fear of Him, we shall live and make ourselves His holy dwelling place. This is what He seeks as in Isaiah 66:2 and asks in Isaiah  33:146

Do not run away from the trials and tribulations we go through because these very same trials and tribulations are from Him Who loves us. These are necessary to grow our faith, help us to be persevering and gives us the hope that we will be with Him forever in His holy presence forever.

Paul emphasises this in:-
Romans 5:1-5 ESV
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. [2] Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. [3] Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, [4] and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, [5] and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

You may ask, "What do we gain in this world by abiding in Jesus?"

By abiding faithfully in Jesus, these are what we gain on earth:-
1. Peace, when going through trials, that this world can never give.
2. Hope of dwelling with God now and for all eternity.
3. Joy that surpasses all understanding.
4. Gradual transformation of character which is pleasing to God.

God bless you as you abide in Jesus, the Word of God and submit yourself to Him!

Be Blessed 🙌

Best Friends? Think Again!

The Story of Doug and Bob!

Once upon a time,  in Southern Australia lived two best friends. They were Doug and Bob. Bob lived in a lovely little cottage beside Doug. They often studied and played together.  They cared for each other. They were as inseparable as twin brothers.

One day Doug heard that there was a wild fire spreading across the forest and that their cottages were in the way of that fast spreading fire.

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

1st Ending:-

Doug went over to Bob's cottage to warn him. Bob just laughed and shrugged it off. Bob was very sure that the winds will blow the fires the opposite direction as it had always done the previous years.

Doug did not want his best friend to perish in the fire. But he also was aware that if he forced Bob, Bob would get angry with him. Doug did not want to offend his best friend. He felt that his relationship with his best friend was most important.  So he stopped warning him of the fire. He continued to spend his time studying and playing with his best friend. Over the next few days, Doug himself forgot about the fire. He just lived as though the fire will not spread to his cottage.

The fire spread rapidly and ravaged both their cottages. Both Bob and Doug perished pitifully in that fire.

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

2nd Ending:-

Doug went over to Bob's cottage to warn him. But something stopped him. Doug knew that Bob did not believe that these wild fires in the forest would spread toward the cottages. He was always optimistic that the winds will blow the fires away.  He never believed in weather reports either because half of what the weathermen predicted never came true.  Also Bob never liked to be forced into accepting the views of others. He believed in only what he was convinced in. Therefore Doug did not want to offend Bob. He did not want to ruin their brotherly friendship. So he did not bother to warn Bob.

Meanwhile Doug had already packed his stuff in his own cottage. He was selfishly prepared to go to a safer place when the fires were near. He was prepared to flee. While waiting for the fires to spread, he continued to study and play with Bob as though all was fine.

The north winds blew suddenly without warning and the fires rapidly spread towards their cottages. Doug took his bags and fled to safety.

The fires ravaged both their cottages. Bob who did not believe Doug, began to scream in fear, "Doug, why did you leave me and run? You were like a brother to me! Couldn't you have tried to make me understand and convince me somehow and brought me along with you? What kind of a friend are you? Doug! Doug! I trusted in our friendship! You betrayed me! Help! Someone help meeeeeeee!" Then there was a deafening silence all around.

Bob sadly perished in the fire. Doug was still alive somewhere with a guilty conscience because He did not try to get his best friend saved.

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

3rd Ending:-

Doug went over to Bob's cottage to warn him. Doug knew that Bob was always skeptical about these forest fires spreading towards their cottages. Bob believed that the usual South winds would blow the fire away, the other direction as it always happened.

This time the weather report predicted that the North winds will  blow much stronger.  But again, Bob never believed in the weather reports as most often what was predicted never came true. He believed only what he felt and saw with his own eyes.

Doug knew he could not change Bob's mind. He loved his friend too much to let him die in the fire. Therefore Doug did the only thing he knew would work.  He knew that the only person who could change Bob's mind was God.

Doug knelt and prayed outside Bob's cottage. He humbly asked God to give Bob the understanding and to open Bob's eyes to see the truth. He knew he could not convince Bob by his own effort. Then after praying, he knocked confidently on Bob's door. Doug warned  Bob about the fire. Skeptical Bob, did not believe Doug at first. Somehow Doug explained the condition of the weather in a convincing manner to him. Bob was somehow convinced  and he immediately packed his things. He got ready to leave his cottage with Doug.

Doug knew it was not his way of convincing but God Who helped to change Bob's mind. He knelt humbly and thanked God Almighty for opening the mind and heart of Bob to know and accept the truth.

Both Bob and Doug fled to safety before the fires ravaged and burnt both their homes down. Their cottages were completely burnt to ashes, but they both survived through God's grace and mercy.

Both Bob and Doug lived happily ever after as best friends and brothers till a ripe old age.

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

My question to the reader is this.
If you were Doug, which ending would you have chosen? Why?

My friend,  would you be that best friend, that brother/sister, and pray for your friend/friends to be saved from hell's eternal fire. Then would you obediently go with the Holy Spirit's help to convince your friend to put his/her hope in Christ alone?

Praying for those who do not know Jesus and for those who reject Him is the right thing to do. But that alone is not sufficient. We must obey the command of Jesus in Matthew Chapter 28. We must go and tell them about Jesus and what He did to save all the human beings from eternal death.

I pray that God will be with you as you humbly and boldly go and spread the Good News to all you meet. God will reward you greatly in heaven for your faithful obedience.

God bless you 🙌
